Lauren Cresci

Lauren Cresci provides audit, tax, and consulting services to not-for-profit organizations, private foundations, privately owned businesses, and individuals.

With more than 40 years of public accounting experience, Lauren has guided clients through complex audits and tax preparation building a business based on trust, exceptional service, and deep knowledge of the Tax Code and accounting standards. She specialized in providing accounting services to nonprofit organizations and has been involved in all financial aspects of charitable organizations and private foundations. Although currently semi-retired, she still works directly with some clients, oversees work for other clients, fields accounting questions, and advises on tax-related issues.

In past years, Lauren was in charge of the Quality Control Team at Lutz and Carr, advising on and ensuring compliance with professional standards. She kept the firm current on the accounting industry’s new authoritative standards and pronouncements. She was also responsible for guiding the firm in professional development.

Representative Experience 

  • Handled trust court accounting and annual returns for a large charitable trust and filed unrelated business tax returns for its holdings in a taxable company requiring both federal and multistate returns.
  • Advised a large private foundation with varied holdings in unusual and alternative investments on correct accounting and reporting on financial statements and annual returns.
  • During COVID, advisedon obtaining Paycheck Protection Program loans and Shuttered Venue grants from the federal government for large and small theater clients.
